People buy it for the person who would skip the rest of Christmas if the dog was not in it. They see the face and that is it.
It is a personalised Christmas tree ornament, and a memory for the tree. You add who should be on it, and the year if you want, and it becomes the one you look for every December. A keepsake, meant to be loved for years to come.
That is the point of a personalised Christmas tree ornament: not another pretty thing, but a little scene that comes home. People want that feeling hanging up, not lost in a phone. Years from now the tree will still have it, and someone will say, that was us.
